Redside is a real estate company that believes buildings should sip—not gulp—resources. We operate according to the people-planet-profits model because we know it is possible to balance a dedication to environmental preservation with economic growth. For example, the fully occupied, LEED-Gold certified and Energy Star-qualified 221 Molalla has an annual total energy cost of $1.16 per square foot—the national average is $2.10 a square foot.
We’re proud of our ongoing efforts to support our core value. Our director of sustainability is a licensed architect who is an expert in green design and construction. We are a member of 1% for the Planet, in which we donate one percent of sales to an environmental cause, which in our case means rent-free office space for the Native Fish Society, a not-for-profit whose purpose is to protect and restore native, wild fish and their habitats. We’ve been recognized as one of the “100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon” by Oregon Business magazine. And, we’ve been honored as the Better Bricks Developer of the Year by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.
